Srini Seshadri

President, Smiths Medical

Srini was born in India and completed his early schooling there and in Kuwait. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India and an M.S. from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He completed his MBA in Finance & Operations Management at the University of Rochester in 1984.

Srini began his career with GE on the Marketing Management Program in GE Plastics in Massachusetts and New York. Upon completion, he became a Field Market Development Specialist in Chicago. In 1989, he joined GE Medical Systems in Wisconsin as a Product Manager and held several positions of increasing responsibility in Marketing & Global Product Management in the Accessories, Mammography, Radiography & Fluoroscopy businesses. In 1998, he moved to Paris, France, where he led the Global Vascular Business and in 1999 was promoted to VP, Services for Europe/Middle East/Africa.

Srini returned to Wisconsin in 2001 to lead Global Services for GE Medical Systems. He was promoted to the role of GM, Global X-Ray in 2003. In January 2004, he became Chief Marketing Officer for GE Healthcare Technologies, with a charter to drive organic growth and deliver a consistent brand image for the business.

In March 2006, he was recruited to become President of Smiths Medical, a $1.4B annual revenue division of Smiths Group. plc, headquartered in London and a member of the FTSE100 on the London Stock Exchange. In 2008, as a part of a wider restructuring of Smiths Group, Srini moved the headquarters of Smiths Medical from London to St. Paul, Minnesota, where the division has a substantial infrastructure.

Since 2006, Srini has enjoyed the challenge of leading Smiths Medical from a collection of small, stand-alone P&Ls to a unified division with common global processes, driving functional excellence, operating on a global ERP system and delivering steady customer satisfaction and profitability improvements.

In his spare time, Srini enjoys volunteering with the American Red Cross, where he is on the board of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Twin Cities Chapter. He also enjoys music and reading, while passionately following cricket and soccer. His mania appears to peak and ebb around world cups.
